Hello
I’m a writer living in Brooklyn with my wife and our two dogs, currently working on my first novel. After ten years in education, I turned toward my own creative life and found a deeper sense of purpose through writing. I hold an MFA from The New School and co-founded the Spilled Ink Collective to help build the kind of creative community I needed when I was starting out.
My Story
For a long time, I built my life around helping others—teaching, mentoring, showing up with care and structure. I spent ten years working in education, supporting young people as they found their footing in the world. It was meaningful work, but something in me was still searching.
When I began prioritizing my own creative life—writing seriously, studying craft, carving out time for my voice—everything shifted. I realized that creativity wasn’t a luxury or a side project; it was central to how I wanted to live. Committing to writing changed my sense of purpose. It made me braver, more honest, and more connected to myself.
That shift led me to complete an MFA in Creative Writing at The New School, building on my MA in Education and years of experience as a teacher and guide. Now, I bring both my educator’s heart and my writer’s insight into my work as a creative writing coach.
Today, I live in Brooklyn with my wife and our two dogs. I’m working on my first novel and continuing to live into the question of what it means to build a creative life—on and off the page. Helping others do the same is the most fulfilling work I know.
