I'm Emily Elkind, a writer and Creative Writing Coach based in Brooklyn, NY. After ten years in education, I decided to rewrite my own story. Now, I live a very different life, one centered around creativity and community.

Through The Spilled Ink Collective, I host monthly mini retreats and weekend getaways that invite you to slow down and show up for your work (snacks & caffeine included).

MY WORK

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School and recently completed a residency at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts. I’m currently working on my first novel, about the doors we close, the ones we walk back through, and how every heartbreak can become a kind of homecoming.
